Refreshed with a few new musicians, a new production team and a new style, the 2024 edition of “La Veillée au Village” will pay a well-deserved tribute to the world’s Acadian singers. This fantastic new energetic show (performed in French) will take the form of a musical revue with a bit of comedy thrown in for good measure!
The evening will feature a great tribute to Acadian artists from the Evangeline region, including those of today and those from decades past, as well as to those from outside the region, from Rustico to Louisiana, via New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec. People can expect the classic Acadian songs that everyone knows. These will be presented with images and narration recounting the lives of the artists being honored. There will be a few new comedy sketches, as well as some familiar scenes with a new twist. A few characters from recent years will undoubtedly make welcomed appearances.
Popular, world-class musicians Louise Arsenault, Caroline Bernard, Rémi Arsenault, Shane Arsenault and Jonny Ray Arsenault will contribute their vast talents to this year’s show! (Caroline and Rémi are also its artistic directors!)
