Afternoon visitors to the Village musical acadien in Abram-Village this summer will be treated to performances by a brand-new group of amazing, familiar voices and exceptional musicians.
“La Gang à Manu”, so named because they’ll be playing in the Ti-Manuel’s Barn from Tuesday to Friday (July 9 to Aug. 29) at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., will present a highly enjoyable mix of traditional songs, local compositions and lively instrumentals. Admission is by donation.
Featured in the group are legendary Franco-Ontarian singer Michel Lalonde, founder of the magnificent folk-rock group Garolou from the 70s and 80s (Victoria, À la claire fontaine, La retraite de Bonaparte, La vendée, etc.); singer-guitarist-accordionist-keyboard player Caroline Bernard (from the groups Gadelle, Les Girls, Lennie Gallant, Jeannita Bernard, Mama et les boys, etc.); guitarist-bass player Rémi Arsenault (who has played with Vishtèn, Natalie McMaster, Donnell Leahy, Catherine MacLellan, Fayo, Dominique Dupuis, Coïg, An Acoustic Sin, etc.); and fantastic young fiddler Gilbert Arsenault (Paloudes, The Highland Storm, Les filles de la factorie, etc.)
With so much talent and experience, this exceptional group will appeal to traditional music fans of all ages, from those who love 70s classic music to those who prefer contemporary sounds. It’s a show not to be missed this summer.
