The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel was founded in March 2006 by a group of volunteers who wanted to preserve cultural tourism programming in the Mont-Carmel region following the closure of Village de l’Acadie. In 2008, the Coopérative tried a new initiative by organizing eight summer evening shows. Having experienced success on its first series of shows, the Coopérative continued to offer a series of shows in Mont-Carmel during the months of July and August each year.

This series of shows not only offers traditional Acadian entertainment evenings to visitors and locals, but it also gives them an opportunity to discover and rediscover many of our Canadian artists. So far, the Coopérative’s summer series has allowed more than 825 artists and 300 dancers to perform on stage.

This Coopérative has a significant impact on the hiring and presentation of our Canadian artists.

Since 2010, the Coopérative has also organized the “Festival de la chanson du Grand Ruisseau” at the end of September.

Presented on Sunday evenings in July and August at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall at 7 p.m.
